Being bigger than life itself – it sound strange, doesn’t it? We are all multi-faceted. We hold a vast collection of experiences and concepts that we use to shape our lives. You would think that what we live would be based on our conscious concepts of self, but the conscious self is only just the surface. What comes to us is filtered through on the “majority vote” of everything we have seen in life.
In this video Deepak Chopra speaks on the studies that show that perception is based upon our beliefs.
From the perspective of recognizing our abilities how do we go about finding a clear enough view of ourselves to see our own strengths and weaknesses? I believe it is through stepping into the viewpoint of the observer where we are free of the emotional responses and judgments of ourselves. This does not mean disregarding any part of ourself, but gaining enough energy in the state of clarity so that the other aspects are no longer “bigger than life”.
When we step into that place of clarity and begin to unravel the web of life experiences and beliefs that have built our view of our world we are truly empowered. Our life are only a series of individual thoughts, ideas, creations and experiences, and when we see them as tools that contribute to our overall “bigger picture” we are stepping into and living in our higher consciousness. It is in this place of consciousness that we exist being bigger than life itself.
